The rough surface with numerous micro-pores makes biological ceramsite particularly suitable for the growth and reproduction of microorganisms on its surface. Modern water treatment processes fully utilize these characteristics, making it an ideal filter material for water treatment, especially for biological pre-treatment of sewage and slightly polluted source water, as well as for water supply filtration technology. Coupled with its moderate density, high strength, resistance to friction, stable physical and chemical properties, and no release of toxic or harmful substances into the water, it has become the preferred filter material for water treatment projects.
